The Future Through Fiction

Join us to explore the hopes, fears, and ethical questions raised by our rapidly advancing world. Examine the fascinating relationship between science fiction cinema and the real-world technologies that shape our lives. This class will focus on the analysis, extrapolation, and discussion of these emerging technologies: Artificial Intelligence, Genetic Engineering, Virtual & Augmented Reality, Interplanetary Settlement, and Advanced Robotics. This fun, interactive course requires no technical expertise—just a curious mind. Current Honors Program student Ian Lawson-Sanderlin will be assisting with this class.
