Between the Wars: The Myth of American Isolationism The era from the end of World War I to the beginning of World War II is often mistakenly seen as a time of America's withdrawal from world affairs. This course will examine United States foreign policy in light of the boom of the 1920s and the bust of the 1930s. Putting the US into the context of the events in Asia and Europe will shed light on how the world found itself in another global conflagration after the "War to End All Wars" and the League of Nations promised it would never happen again. | |||||||
